WGSN FOReCASTING
The next part of my trend research is about how the Red theme was forecasted by WGSN, one of the major trend forecasters worldwide.
Out of the 2 Trends WGSN had put together, I chose Anthurium Red as the one where the Red trend originated.
The Anthurium Red trend is all about strong colour all over. The energetic colour with head to toe styling radiates strength.
Rich fabrics like leathers and jerseys are key in this
trend to nail the full red look.
Another aspect of the trend is mixing reds with other strong colours. Including colours that don't traditionally go together like pink and red.
Conclusion
For my research i picked the trend
'red'
this trend was shown on a lot of various media sources, both printed and online. I noticed there were Brands at all levels with many red garments.
Finally, I looked on wgsn to trace back to the origin of this trend.
One of the trends, "anthurium red", has a very strong influence. One aspect of this Megatrend is head to toe red, which is present directly in what i saw at chapel street
red has been known for many years as being a sexy and strong colour. today we see this in an extreme case with red being worn top to bottom. It is a great trend as it is timeless and makes people feel empowered.
